The Beastie Zone contains detailed information about lots of useful integrated circuits. |
|
| Each entry gives you a pin connection diagram for the integrated
circuit, or 'beastie', and shows you exactly how to wire it up to achieve basic
operation. In addition, there are circuits showing typical applications and links to other parts of the DOCTRONICS Beastie Zone database and to topics within Design Electronics, the on-line electronics textbook. |

4000 series CMOS logic integrated circuits have the advantages of wide power supply range (3-15 V) and low power consumption, making them ideal for battery operation.
In all CMOS circuits, you need to provide power supply decoupling, connecting 47 µF or 100 µF capacitors across the power supply close to the power supply pins of the integrated circuits themselves.
All the inputs of a CMOS integrated circuit must be connected either to HIGH or LOW.
The table below lists CMOS integrated circuits in numerical order. A second table lists these devices by function.
